Chapter 1989 When is this going to happen? A being sitting cross-legged hovered in the air. He had purple skin, long ears resembling an imp, a bald head, and a white mark on his head. He wore monk-like clothes and continued to meditate without a single change in his expression. He was inside a simple, regular-sized room, with normal beige walls, a mat placed on the floor instead of a bed, and a small window. If one didn't know him, they would think he was a villager who had nothing to show for himself and was living a meagre life. Unless, of course, they came close to him and sensed his cultivation level. He was an Eternal, and not just any Eternal—he was one of the strongest Eternals in the Universe. He was also one of the oldest Eternals, one of the beings who had lived through the time when there were Five Supreme Worlds instead of Four. Yes, he was THAT old. Most of his peers had forced themselves to sleep or had simply entered the reincarnation cycle since they couldn't stand immortality any longer, but he… he held on. He was knowledgeable and strong enough to take on almost any Eternal-level being who stood against him, yet… Almost no one in this entire Universe knew about him. And how would they? Ever since he was a Protector, he had confined himself in Timeguard and had never left the place again. Yes, he was also one of those beings who tried their luck comprehending time. Unlike most, however, he didn't fail. Although he wasn't able to form a Complete Law of Time, he was able to understand and master the Temporal Flow. Yes, he was the holder of the Law of Absolute Time Manipulation, one of the strongest Time Laws. He could manipulate the speed of time to any degree he desired, around any area he desired—a power that would pretty much make him invincible if he ever used it for combat. All he had to do was slow the time around his enemies. Once the enemy was frozen, he had thousands of ways to get rid of them. It was never even a fair battle since his Law was an Absolute. Yes, that was how strong this being was. "Master Tenzin!" While the being, Tenzin, was cultivating, a woman barged into his room, panicked. It was completely opposite of the calm and serene aura Tenzin had created around himself. Tenzin opened his eyes and stared at the woman who had walked in. The woman had pale white skin and a beautiful figure—even the loose monk clothing couldn't hide her curves. She had no hair, just like Tenzin, and she covered her eyes with a blindfold. The blindfold, however, didn't seem to hinder her vision since she moved around just fine, even avoiding Tenzin's mat where he rested as she rushed toward him. "Calm down, Vashti." Tenzin called out, his voice as calm as always. His words, however, seemed to have no effect on Vashti. Rather, she grabbed Tenzin's arm and— "Someone is going to read my memories!" "What…?" Tenzin's expression changed. "I sensed it a few minutes ago. I wasn't killed, neither was I hurt. My mind, however, had a blank, and once Lord Solus examined me, he realized that my memories were read." "Who did it?" Tenzin narrowed his eyes. "I do not know!" Vashti answered. "What do you mean?" Tenzin couldn't understand. "Did you not see it?" "I did not! I tried doing everything. I did not see anything. I only know I was suddenly teleported to Outer Space. I tried returning but couldn't. A force I couldn't comprehend nor see neutralized me, and after a few hours, I was sent back." "You didn't… see anyone?" "I did not!" Vashti shook her head, unable to comprehend what was happening to her. "How were you neutralized then?" "I do not know; I just couldn't move!" "Was it the Power of Confinement?" "It was similar, but I didn't sense anything. It was some invisible force that couldn't be sensed. To me, it looked like I stopped moving without any apparent reason!" "You just stopped moving…?" Tenzin's frown deepened. He had spent almost all his life trying to unravel the mystery behind the Temple of Time. He was used to dealing with the unknown, so almost nothing ever surprised him. But this… this was different. Vashti was his greatest student, someone with a potential as strong as his, if not stronger. The Law of Absolute Projection. It was a Law that allowed her to create future and past projections of others and herself. She could recreate events that happened in the past and the events that would happen in the future. Of course, recreating events in the future was much more complicated since even the slightest change could create thousands of timelines, so the farther into the future one tries to see, the less accurate it becomes. Then there was also the problem of losing herself in one of those future timelines or overloading her brain with all the information, so she had to be extremely careful. However, this didn't mean her Law was weak. In fact, it was much stronger. Vashti's Law gave her an unbelievable precognition ability. In her still life, where all she did was meditate, the moment something out of the ordinary happened, she was able to sense it. Even when Orynthar and Tenebris were about to visit, she was the first one to sense their arrival and inform them all. She told them exactly who was coming, what they were coming for, and when they would leave. Honestly, if she wasn't hell-bent on spending most of her time studying the Temple of Time, she would have long broken through the Eternal Stage. Right now, however, none of that mattered. According to Vashti, someone would read her memory in the future—someone she couldn't see or sense. This didn't make sense.
