Description
Arik Xolver was a Count of the Griffon Kingdom based in Othre and a prominent retainer to Marquis Lanza. Born without magical talent, he grew profoundly envious and hateful toward magic users, even forbidding his own staff from utilizing their abilities. His desperation for power led him to squander his wealth on scams and eventually pledge himself as a thrall to the vampire Kaelan. As a member of the Night Court's network, he used his noble status to expand their influence. He is depicted as a man driven by deep-seated inadequacy and obsessive ambition.
Personality
Xolver is defined by intense envy toward those with magical talent. This jealousy manifested as a hateful prohibition against magic within his household, where he strictly punished any staff members who attempted to use it. His character is marked by desperation, poor judgment, and a penchant for hubris, as evidenced by his failed attempt to intimidate Lith.
Appearance
He possesses a red mana core and an unstable blood core, the latter of which drains his primary mana core to maintain its existence.
Backstory
Born as the only non-magical child in his family, Xolver became obsessed with achieving the power possessed by his siblings. He spent a significant portion of his fortune on charlatans promising to awaken or boost his magical talent. Ultimately, he chose to become an undead thrall to Kaelan in a misguided attempt to gain magical power through undeath. During a gala hosted by Mynna Lanza, he attempted to manipulate Kamila and attack Lith, which led to his master Kaelan intervening to prevent a conflict with the powerful Awakened.
