Description

Baba Yaga, also known as the Red Mother, is the last remnant of the Odi race and the oldest living white-core Awakened on Mogar. She is a master of all magical arts, including Creation Magic, and is the creator of the undead race, whom she views as her children. Despite her formidable power and status as a former Guardian candidate, she is known for her wisdom and complex moral code. She often acts as a mentor or mediator, navigating the politics of Guardians and other powerful entities. Her primary motivation throughout the centuries has been to overcome the limitations of mortality and protect her creations.

Baba Yaga is defined by a fierce, maternal devotion toward her creations and those she considers children. While she possesses the authority and strength of a ruler, she maintains a gentle demeanor and prefers to avoid direct interference unless necessary. She is pragmatic, focused on the future, and deeply protective of her 'family.' Despite her vast power, she is capable of introspection and has shown the ability to learn from her mistakes, such as her decision to let loved ones go, a lesson learned from Tyris.

Appearance

Baba Yaga possesses three distinct forms. Her Maiden form (Dawn) appears as a young woman of sixteen with waist-long golden hair and blue eyes. Her Mother form (Dusk) appears as a woman in her 40s with flaming red hair and emerald eyes, projecting a sense of maternal warmth. Her Crone form (Night) appears as a hunched figure with grey hair, wrinkled skin, and sharp, cold black eyes, reflecting her ancient wisdom and bitterness.

Backstory

Born of the Odi race, she left her people due to their abhorrent obsession with perfection and slavery. Over centuries, she apprenticed under all six original Guardians, eventually surpassing most in longevity. After witnessing the death of her loved ones, she became obsessed with conquering death, leading her to create the fourth major race of Mogar: the undead. She later created the Three Horsemen—Dawn, Dusk, and Night—as living legacies to further her research. She was once a close friend to Ripha Menadion and later acted as a mentor to Elphyn Menadion. Throughout history, she has been hunted by various powerful mages, yet she has remained protected within her mage tower, continuing her research on life, death, and hybrids.
