Chapter 1650: The Eclipse That Never Ends Battle and bloodshed were prevalent in Reality, and the gods of light and flames were angered and a bit surprised by the presence of the dragon. They had cleansed the dimensions around them for billions of light years, and there should no longer be anyone foolish enough to stand against them. Clearly, they were mistaken. Cries of outrage resounded from the gods whose appearances were like Celestial flames given form. Weapons were drawn and spells were chanted, but it was too late. Vraegar was hunger. His presence ate their fortune and their speed. The weapons in their arms grew heavier, and their spells failed, but the opened maw of the dragon, large enough to swallow galaxies, clamped shut on dozens of the gods. His fangs pierced through their bodies and shredded them apart, as their essence and light were drained into his gullet. The rest of the solar gods cried out in fury at the death of so much of their number, and they hurled supernovae of divine wrath, but Vraegar’s wings absorbed their fury, his scales drinking in their radiance like a desert soaking up the rain. Where their flames touched him, his body darkened further, growing stronger as his veins pulsed with stolen power. "Flames?! I have them too, but mine is stronger!" Vraegar roared as he took a deep breath, which made the star below lose half of its brightness and unleashed devastation from his maws on the gods. What emerged from Vraegar was not flames but anti-light. A harsh wave of nullification that solar flares mid-flight. Tens of gods screamed as their light were stripped away, and Vraegar drew in another breath, sucking all those screaming gods into his stomach. He had eaten more than forty gods, all of which were at the eighth-dimensional level, and instead of his hunger diminishing, it grew as his body experienced relentless waves of evolution that were driving Vraegar insane. In his insanity, Vraegar disregarded every conscious thought and became an avatar of hunger and destruction. With a roar, he pounced on the gods, and a great slaughter ensued. His claws tore through gods, their radiance absorbed by their impossibly sharp length, and every move he made left wounds that festered with eternal eclipse, as his hunger devoured reality, and any survivor from his claws could not heal, their body forever broken, and they did not last long enough to fear before they were swallowed by the dragon. The gods drew upon the Primordial Vortex to match the dragon’s might, and their size grew to match the dragon’s, but it was useless; Vraegar’s hunger could not be matched. Four of them remained: Phospho, their leader, and three of his most powerful generals. They looked at each other and focused on their enemy, but that slight glance was enough to pass a profound message across. "We have lived as gods, and today we will die like gods. We take this scaly bastard down and feast in his skull!" "Hahaha, good. Today we dine with death!" Without fear, they charged at the dragon with everything they had; in that moment, their radiance was unmatched. It was a shame that Vraegar’s hunger could not be stopped. His tail impaled one of the generals, who could only strike futilely on his scales as his essence was drained to nothing. His gigantic bones were left hanging on the dragon’s tail, and even that was soon devoured. The second general seeing the fate of his fellow god, laughed in anger and despair as he detonated his Will, Destiny, Fate, Memory, soul and flesh, in an explosion that could be seen across Reality but Vraegar swallowed the detonation whole, his throat swelling a bit as he took in all that energy. Witnessing such a sight, even the bravery of a god failed, and the last general turned to flee. Vraegar roared in rage at the god’s cowardice, "You shame your divinity!" His shadow stretched across the distance, ensnaring the fleeing god in a vampiric embrace, reducing him to a withered husk. The dragon, whose sanity had slowly returned as his hunger began to ease up with the evolution of his body coming to an end, turned to look at his last prey. This would be the one to complete his evolution. Phospho, the leader of the gods, was left in the shambles of his once great dominion, and in his eyes was rage and horror as he looked into the eyes of the dragon that became fixed on him. It was unknown whether it was a spell or if it was simply fear, but Phospho could not move, even as he was encircled by Vraegar like a serpent coiling around its prey. Vraegar’s jaw unhinged like a snake, his mass wider than any horizon, and with a sound like the end of creation, he bit down, tearing Phospho in two, and then he swallowed the rest. Vraegar staggered backwards, plumes of flames that could melt entire galaxies pouring down from his nose as he digested a hundred eight-dimensional solar God Emperors. Such a feast, a mere thousand years ago, would have been impossible; only in this age could his Tribulation and evolution be completed. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶 The dragon’s body pulsed with the stolen brilliance of a hundred suns, his wings casting not shadows but an all-encompassing void. The battle had shattered this dimension, and around Vraegar were the remnants of a hundred gods, their golden armor broken, their lights extinguished. Vraegar reared up, his wings spread wide, his voice was a thunderous decree unto all existence. What came out of his throat emerged from the depths of his bloodline, as he felt a connection with his Primogenitor more closely than ever before, after all his Tribulation was closely tied to Rowan’s numerous evolutions. "I am the eclipse that never ends. I am the hunger that consumes eternity!" With that, Vraegar took flight, leaving a dimension bereft of light. A while later, the treasure golem appeared and through his eyes, Primordial Memory looked at the devastation with a frown. The Tribulation of this dragon was complete, and although the power the dragon gained was great, it was nothing to Primordial Memory, but he could not help but wonder if he had missed anything. Cursing this useless shell with its limited perception, Primordial Memory focused on the other trillions of webs he had spun across Reality; there were many areas that needed his attention.
