Klaus knew these puppets could barely keep up with his attacks, and the Gnomes weren't strong individually. Against other humans, they might be able to battle them, but Grey and his friends were different, they were geniuses among geniuses. Klaus went on a rampage, and attacked the four simultaneously, fighting as if he was not afraid of getting struck by their attacks. What the Gnomes found more annoying was the fact that even though they could clearly see that Klaus was attacking recklessly, they still weren't able to break through his defenses. It was clear that he didn't lose his mind while fighting, rather, he was using more attack power, but still keeping enough to ensure he protected himself. The Gnomes nor their puppets couldn't break his defense with one blow, and Klaus could almost instantly regenerate any part of his ice dome that cracks.
