Raging Flames City had regained its calm once again. A few weeks back someone offended the City Lord's Manor in front of the McCall Family Manor, and just a few days ago, the City Lord took a few people and headed to the McCall Family Manor. A lot of people waited for the news of the destruction of the McCall Family, after all, it's not a force that can compete with the City Lord's Manor. However, even after a few days, the McCall Family is doing very fine, and even the City Lord's Manor seemed to have gone into a dormant state, not having much activities. Grey continued residing in the McCall Family, this was the only place the City Lord would be able to search for him when it was time for them to leave. This wasn't the only reason he decided to stay back, even without the City Lord's invitation, he would've still stayed back since he wanted to use the array formation here as a form of practical lessons. It has been five days since Grey and the City Lord had their conversation. Other than studying the array formation, Grey used his spare time to talk with the Old men from the McCall Family. They were supposedly stranded in the Venerable Plane. For over a thousand years or so, the McCall Family has been unable to produce a single Sovereign. If they were in a place with lower essence quality, then it is quite understandable, however, the quality of essence here isn't the best, but it is still enough to produce a few Sovereigns from the McCall Family. 'Could something be stopping them from advancing?' This was the thought that came to Grey's head when he thought about this issue while speaking with the Old men. One day, he called the current McCall Family Head over to his room. Inside the room, Grey was seated while the McCall Family Head was standing by his side, his hand outstretched as Grey's fingers could be seen placed on his wrist. Grey's eyes were shut as he tried to inspect every inch of the McCall Family Head's body. Grey's expression changed from time to time as his powerful spiritual energy passed through the Old man's body, seemingly trying to pry into any secret it held. "That's odd." A questioning look appeared on Grey's face as he opened his eyes, looking at the McCall Family Head, he opened his mouth, "Can you call the others here?" The McCall Family Head nodded, and just as he was leaving, Grey's voice echoed in his ears again. "Oh, and someone from the younger generation too, preferably my age." The Old man hurriedly left, leaving Grey alone in the room. Grey looked at the bed, staring at a small black spot on the bed before asking, "You noticed it too right?" "Yeah, I wonder what might be causing it." Void nodded, staring in the direction the Old man faced. "We'll find out after I inspect the others." A few minutes later the McCall Family Head returned to the room with company, the other five Old men came with him, but this time, there was the addition of a young man who looked to be in his twenties. The young man was none other than the one Grey saw during the conflict between the McCall Family and the City Lord's Manor. "I'm sorry for calling all of you here on such a short notice, but I noticed something odd in him." Grey explained. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦 The McCall Family Head was struck by shock when he heard Grey's words. Saying he found something in him meant that there was something strange inside his body that he had no idea about. Cold sweat formed on his forehead at the thought of this. The expression of the Old man in black changed as he asked with seriousness, "Are you certain there's something in his body?" Grey nodded, before motioning for the Old man to come. The Old man looked around and nodded, he also wanted to see if whatever Grey said was in the McCall Family Head's body was in his own too. The Old man kept his eyes on Grey's expression as the latter placed two fingers on his wrist, after a while he saw the change in Grey's expression. Grey took back his hand and called the other Old men, after completing the process with them, he called the young man over. The young man already knew what to expect and stretched out his hand as soon as he got close to Grey. Grey placed his fingers on his wrist before closing his eyes, a few seconds later he opened them. Retracting his hand, he moved his gaze to the Old man in black. "It's as I thought, it's in all your bodies. If I'm not mistaken, then everyone residing in this Manor probably has it too." Grey opened his mouth. The Old men wore confused yet worried expressions, they didn't know what Grey was talking about, but they could tell that it wasn't anything good for them. "Young Lord Grey, what is in our bodies?" The Old man in black asked respectfully. Grey wore a thoughtful expression for a short time before opening his palm, "Watch this, I'll explain as I give you a visual example." After Grey opened his palm, seven orbs formed above it, each orb had a small string attached to it that were all connected to something. "You see these orbs?" Grey asked, seeing the group nod, he continued, "They represent each of your cores. You see those strings attached to them? Something similar is happening to your cores, and energy is slowly being siphoned from your cores to wherever the strings are attached to on the other end." Hearing Grey's words, everyone with the exception of Grey and Void froze, the Old men were dumbstruck at Grey's words. How could something like this be possible? It's understandable if it's one or two people, but this was probably done to every single member of the McCall Family, which was scary to think about.
