In it was a single, raised doorway of white metal. Elara placed her hand upon it, and with a silent, willing hum, it opened, revealing a pristine white staircase that spiraled down into the darkness. She and Noah began to descend. As they did, Elara turned, a flicker of something almost like curiosity in her crimson eyes. "Elderborn," she said, as if just realizing a glaring oversight in her own, usually flawless, methodology. "I just realized I didn’t even ask who you were."
