The Heavenly Demon Patriarch or Cheon Ma (천마조사, 天魔祖師), real name Larisha, also known as Jeong and "Mok Gyeongwoon", is the founder of the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult as well as the Cheon Family's ancestor. He was the first person given the name/title of the Heavenly Demon/Cheon Ma and was regarded as the greatest martial artist in all of Wulin history He is the central protagonist of the prequel novel, 괴력 난신(소설)[1] or Myst, Might, Mayhem that is currently in serialization as it follows his life story and journey in becoming the 1st Heavenly Demon in the world.

He lived with his grandfather, an herb collector who always warned him never to reveal his true nature. However, his grandfather is brutally murdered, and Jeong succumbs to his rage. He goes on a killing spree, though he managed to find the murderer, he was ultimately defeated and sentenced to death. While imprisoned, Jeong encountered Mok Gyeongwoon, the young master of the Mok Sword Manor, who was stunned by their identical appearance. Seeking to usurp his family's heirship, Mok Gyeongwoon devises a plan to use Jeong as his stand-in. However, before they could leave the prison, Jeong breaks Mok Gyeongwoon’s neck with his bare hands, killing him. From that moment on, he assumes the identity of "Mok Gyeongwoon" and infiltrates the sword manor. During his time at the manor, Jeong now "Mok Gyeongwoon" comes across a book on shamanism and gains the ability to commune with spirits. While exploring a hidden chamber, he discovers a sinister book bound in human skin, inadvertently releasing the dangerous Blue Spirit. The spirit attempts to possess him, but through sheer willpower, he subdues her and makes her his familiar. Under her guidance, Mok Gyeongwoon swiftly grasped the fundamentals of cultivation and martial arts, marking the beginning of his rise to power. Cheon Mu-Sung attempted to stop Mok Gyeongwoon's confrontation with the blade god. In the end it didn't work as Cheon-Ma didn't want to get involved with future problems and only wanted to focus on the present. His journey is chronicled in a prequel novel, detailing his adventures across the Wulin. Along the way, he secretly mastered various martial arts by observing and refining the techniques of numerous martial artists. By the age of 18, Jeong now known as Cheon Ma had reached the pinnacle of martial arts, defeating renowned masters with a single sword and earning the title of the world's greatest warrior.
