Tears formed at the corner of her eyes as she stared at them, hoping—just hoping—to see even the slightest bit of hesitation. But... The situation was hopeless. The enemies’ eyes were empty; there was not even a single trace of emotion in them—they were... dead. Elyra’s hands trembled, her weapon cracked. But it was merely a momentary bravado as suddenly— A Light Born appeared before her, close enough that she could see his flawless, hollow face. "Fall," He said simply as he raised his hand. The light gathered, brighter than anything before—Elyra tried to move, but four Eternals appeared from behind and held her, restricting her movements. Against four enemies who were all as strong as her, even Elyra, who was supported by her world—could see the result. And it was only natural, was it not? They were facing an overwhelming disadvantage from the beginning; it was already surprising that she managed to hold on for this long— This battle... It... it was over. Elyra, on the other hand, was different; she looked above, in the direction Irethol’s Will had told her about, and the moment she did—she saw them. Twenty radiant figures descending from the heavens. Each one of them shining brighter than the sun, reflecting absolute grace, gentleness, and purity. Yes, more Light Borns had appeared. The moment Irethol’s Will first informed Elyra about their arrival, she was horrified. There were already eighteen enemies overwhelming her, and now twenty more had appeared!? Just what in the hell was happening!? What did they do!? Why were they being eliminated in this manner!? "You’ve done enough, Thal’ren." Faen spoke, ready to dismiss Elyra before focusing all his attention on the enemies. But then— "Why...?" Elyra asked, barely keeping her voice steady. "Why did they attack us? They—they’re Light Borns, are they not? Then why..." She wanted the answer. She wanted to know what mistake they made, she wanted to know what went wrong, she wanted to know... why her comrades died. And Faen... he spoke the words that chilled her heart.
