Nero

Nero is intelligent, observant, and somewhat weary of his master's eccentricities. He acts as a grounded voice of reason for Inxialot, demonstrating a degree of care by monitoring the Lich's physical needs and research accuracy. He is capable of higher-order thinking and social interaction, such as playing strategy games, but prefers to keep his true identity as an Emperor Beast hidden from most people, often trying to cover up his mistakes if he accidentally speaks in front of strangers.

Nero is a black cat, though he is secretly an Emperor Beast in disguise.

Nero was gifted to Inxialot Nagaar by his mother, Aylen Nagaar, during the celebration of Valeron's coronation. Aylen hoped that an Emperor Beast in disguise would prevent the Lich from becoming entirely consumed by his obsession with research and help him retain common sense. Despite this intention, Inxialot's genius and reclusive nature made it difficult for Nero to curb his isolation. Nero continues to accompany Inxialot, such as when he joined the Lich and his apprentice Zolgrish to oversee the Council apprentice test at the reconstructed Urgamakka. He often interacts with others, such as playing games with Zolgrish or accidentally revealing his ability to speak to outside observers like Raagu Drerian.
