Supreme Magus
Description
Pezkat Kwart is a high-ranking Archmage of the Griffon Kingdom and the youngest chairman of the Mage Association in decades. Known for his Machiavellian nature, he prioritizes political influence and the preservation of his organization over merit or integrity. He views powerful individuals like Lith Verhen as tools or threats to his life's work, often resorting to manipulation and coercion to achieve his goals. Despite his immense magical talent and physical enhancements, he is frequently thwarted by the unpredictable growth of his rivals. His career is marked by constant political maneuvering and an attempt to maintain the Mage Association's dominance against the rising power of the Army.
Kwart is highly ambitious, calculating, and cynical, believing that power and influence outweigh truth and talent. He is a pragmatic politician who views human relationships through the lens of leverage and utility, often using manipulation to control those he perceives as subordinates or rivals. While he possesses a strong sense of self-preservation, he is also arrogant and prone to viewing those who do not align with his interests as threats to the stability of the Mage Association. He is not motivated by personal hatred so much as by the desire to maintain his status and political control.
Pezkat Kwart is a man in his mid-30s. He stands approximately 1.76 meters (5'9") tall. His most distinctive physical features include grey eyes and brown hair that is streaked with blue and yellow highlights.
Born into a powerful family that invested heavily in his magical and political education, Kwart rose rapidly through the ranks of the Mage Association. Facing a decline in the Association's influence following various disasters like the Kandria plague, he took aggressive steps to restore its reputation, often by attempting to leverage Lith Verhen and other prominent mages. He formed a political alliance with Archmage Velan Deirus to check the Army's growing power, viewing those who cooperated with the Crown or the Army as obstacles to his agenda. Throughout his tenure, he plotted to discredit Lith and the Ernas household, even suggesting the use of Lith's family as leverage. His political downfall began after the fallout of the Feymar crystal mine incident and the failed plot against the Ernas, eventually leading to his public defeat in a magical duel against Lith and the restructuring of the Association's leadership.
