Description

Professor Ellkas was an Archmage of the Griffon Kingdom and a highly academic Professor from the Fire Griffon Academy. He was a key participant in the Kulah expedition, where he utilized his expertise in ancient Odi language and golem research. Throughout the expedition, he demonstrated a pragmatic and often ruthless survival instinct, prioritizing his own life over his subordinates. His academic knowledge was vital for uncovering the mysteries of the underground city and its hazardous technology. Ultimately, he met his end at the hands of the Odi Jiira while attempting to escape the perilous ruins of Kulah.

Personality

Ellkas is depicted as a highly intelligent but morally bankrupt academic. He values personal survival above all else, shown by his willingness to leave subordinates to die to ensure his own escape. While he is a capable researcher and Archmage, he lacks empathy, viewing others primarily as tools or burdens. He is prone to fear regarding his own usefulness, which drives his cautious and calculated nature during the mission.

Backstory

Ellkas was part of the expedition that discovered the ancient city of Kulah. During the mission, he assisted in deciphering Odi language markings and researching golem technology. When the expedition faced deadly fungal creatures and Flesh Golems, he survived but witnessed the deaths of several colleagues. As the mission grew increasingly desperate, Ellkas showcased a callous nature, choosing to abandon his assistant Onma and other staff, viewing them as dead weight. He formed a strategic alliance with Yondra to increase his survival odds but was eventually killed during an ambush by the Odi Jiira while trying to reach a dimensional rune.
