Zolgrish

Zolgrish is highly eccentric, brilliant, and socially detached. He frequently displays signs of madness, often acting without considering the catastrophic consequences of his choices. He is famously forgetful, constantly misremembering the names of his acquaintances, including Lith, whom he calls by dozens of wrong names. While he is capable of complex planning, he lacks empathy, viewing living beings as expendable tools for his research. He prefers isolation and minding his own business, though he is shrewd enough to negotiate profitable business arrangements.

In his natural Lich form, Zolgrish appears as a tall, withered figure with a skeletal frame and sparse skin. His eyes contain the cold, red light of undeath. After assimilating Dann'Kah, he adopted the appearance of a tall man with pointy ears, often wearing luxurious golden mage robes. When fully powered by world energy, his skin shines with a divine quality and a crown of pure mana forms above his head. In his former human life, he was 1.78 meters tall with brown hair, brown eyes, and a short beard.

Zolgrish built his lair in the Broken Spine mountains to exploit rich silver veins for his research. He developed a method to bind monster souls to his phylactery, ensuring their loyalty through a cycle of death and rebirth tied to his own life force. He was eventually encountered by Lith Verhen while in a weakened state, where they formed a mutually beneficial partnership. After the collapse of his mountain lab, Zolgrish leveraged his silver mining operations to gain wealth and influence. He eventually joined the Council as an apprentice under Inxialot Nagaar, assisting in the oversight of magical tests, though he often prioritized his own convenience over the safety of the participants.
