Chapter 1565: Weapons of the Alpha There weren’t as many weapons in this forge as in the rest of the workshops outside, but each one radiated an unmistakable presence. The air itself felt heavier here, thick with heat, magic, and memory. Steve could tell at a glance that every item in this room was special, crafted with a level of care beyond what even the best blacksmiths could dream of. He approached one weapon mounted proudly on the wall, a massive warhammer. The head of the hammer was engraved with the carving of a wolf mid-howl, its open jaws gleaming with faint blue light that pulsed where its eyes had been inlaid with gemstones. The craftsmanship was immaculate. Even standing near it, Steve could feel the energy humming through the metal, as if the weapon itself were alive. Around him, blades and bows rested on polished stands, their edges glimmering with enchantments. There were curved daggers, twin-bladed glaives, even what looked like a silver crossbow reinforced with beast crystal veins. Most of them looked unused, waiting, almost expectantly, for their destined wielder. “What did you mean when you said these weapons were made for us?” Steve asked, tracing his fingers lightly along the cold metal surface of the warhammer. Jack walked over. “You know how beast weapons are categorized by grades, right? Each one’s power depends on the quality of the crystal used to forge it, and the skill of the blacksmith shaping it.” Steve nodded. “Of course. The stronger the beast, the stronger the weapon.” “Exactly,” Jack continued. “Normally, the weapon’s ability is determined by the nature of the crystal, fire, lightning, shadow, you name it. The forger decides what form the weapon takes, but that doesn’t always align perfectly with the crystal’s energy. You can force a fire beast crystal into a sword, for example, but it might work better as a spear or gauntlet. The more you push it, the weaker the result.” He turned toward one of the glowing furnaces and smirked. “But with the book you gave me all those years ago, and with the help of the dwarves... we found a way to take it a step further.” Steve frowned. “A step further?” Jack nodded. “We learned how to limit power, control it, channel it. You see, these weapons are different. In the hands of an ordinary human, they’d still be strong, sure. But they’d never reach their true potential. Because their true energy and skills reacts only to us. To werewolves.” Steve’s breath caught. Jack reached up and grasped the handle of the giant warhammer Steve had been examining. With one smooth motion, he lifted it off the wall and swung it casually through the air. Despite its enormous size, he handled it as if it were no heavier than a walking stick. “This one,” Jack said, the hammer’s head glowing faintly as he moved, “isn’t just any Demon-Tier weapon. It’s a Demon-Tier weapon crafted for an Alpha. It can draw strength from every werewolf in its pack. Their energy, our bond, flows through it.” Steve’s eyes widened. “A weapon that channels the strength of the entire pack...” He could already imagine the implications. No ordinary beast crystal weapon could do something like that. This was beyond forging, it was evolution. He looked around again, his heart pounding with excitement. “Then the armor, the other pieces, they’re all like this too?” Jack grinned. “Some more than others. Each one has a different effect, but every piece here was designed for us. To move with our transformations, to amplify our power, and to survive the kind of battles no normal warrior ever could.” He turned and reached for another weapon hanging on the opposite wall, a greatsword nearly as tall as he was, its blade a mirror-silver sheen edged with faint traces of gold. When he lifted it, the room seemed to tremble slightly. Then, in one motion, Jack extended his other arm which was free. Golden armor began to shimmer into existence across his body, first along his forearms, then his chest, then his shoulders. Each plate formed seamlessly, wrapping perfectly around his frame as if molded by invisible hands. Within seconds, Jack stood encased in gleaming armor that looked as if it had been poured onto him. Steve stepped back, stunned. “It’s a special forging technique,” Jack explained, flexing his hand as the armor moved with him like liquid metal. “The armor’s linked to my blood. It binds itself to my body, reshaping whenever I call for it.” “That’s... incredible,” Steve said, awe in his voice. Jack laughed. “It has its drawbacks. Once bound, it can’t be given to anyone else. So we only use it in rare cases now, it’s not practical for a growing pack. But for me, it’s perfect.” He turned, showing the back of his armor. Across it was a reinforced strap that crossed diagonally, forming a massive X-shape. Without hesitation, Jack slid the greatsword into one side, the blade locking in place with a soft metallic click. Then he lifted the massive warhammer and strapped it opposite, the two weapons crossing behind him like twin symbols of his authority. “Both of these,” he said proudly, “are mine. And that armor, ” he pointed toward a set of blackened steel plates resting on a nearby rack “, that one’s for you.” Steve approached it slowly. The armor was darker than Jack’s, streaked with faint crimson lines that pulsed like veins of molten metal. Still with the same golden appearance. Even before touching it, he could sense its energy thrumming faintly in the air. Jack spoke again, his tone almost instructional. “Place your hand on it. Feed your Qi into the metal, and it will do the rest.” Steve followed his instructions. As soon as his energy flowed into the armor, it began to move. The pieces shifted and contracted, swirling around him like liquid steel. Plates formed across his arms, chest, and legs, locking together until they fit him perfectly. He looked down in astonishment. The armor felt weightless, yet he could feel the power coursing through it. His muscles tensed instinctively, and energy surged through his body, wild, pure, and invigorating. It was as if the armor itself was breathing with him. “Unbelievable...” Steve whispered. “It’s like I’ve just eaten an entire feast.” Jack laughed. “That’s the power flow. It draws on your Qi and enhances it. The armor doesn’t have any flashy abilities, no elemental tricks, but it’s solid. It’ll protect you even when you transform, and it’ll amplify your defense and stamina.” Steve flexed his fist, feeling the strength pulse through him. Jack went on. “It also has a self-repair function, though it’s slow. Don’t rely on it during a fight, it’s there to keep it from breaking apart over time.” Steve looked up from the armor and met Jack’s gaze. For the first time since their reunion, he felt something that had been buried for years, hope.
