Chapter 2046: Make Them Pay A Thousand Times Eos sat on his Throne of Stone inside the Central Pivot and waited for all of his Primordials to gather all around him. There were now three generations of Primordials, and their number had shot up to sixty-four in less than fifty million years. This was clearly great progress, and Eos could not be any more glad because of these changes. However, the progress of all his children inside his Origin Realms may be great, but he could not rest easy because there were certain bad crops among them, and today he would weed them out. Normally, he would sit cross-legged on his rough stone throne and hardly move from this position, even when attending to the Primordials who sought audience with him, but now, the first Primordial that arrived, Eva, the Primordial of Revelation, saw him standing with both his hands on the hilt of his Destroyer. This blade had tasted the blood of multiple Ancient Primordials and devoured their flesh. In the last battle before the creation of the Origin Realms, this blade had eaten deeply from the Essence of Enoch, and due to its unique nature that devoured all things for power, the Destroyer had not been corrupted by the power of End... it could not be corrupted by this power, because its purpose had clearly been defined on the day of its creation. It had spoken to Eos once and pledged to be his blade for all eternity, and from that moment forth, its path was fixed. The Destroyer could be nothing else but a Destroyer. The blade’s personality was incredibly brittle; it could not be bent without snapping. This was not a good mindset for an immortal, but for a blade, especially a killing blade, this was the ideal. Eva watched Eos, and there was something in his eyes that made her shiver. She said nothing and stood by the side, and soon more Primordials arrived, and seeing the Eos’s form and the silence that had taken hold of this space, they also fell into silence. After a while, all Primordials were present and accounted for, and they watched Eos with his hands on the hilt of his blade, and without any words being spoken, they knew that someone would be dying here. They looked at each other and remained silent. The Grand Creator may not make many moves, but anything he does reverberates through all of Existence. "Some of you would be dying today," Eos suddenly spoke aloud, and his words were a statement of fact, leaving nothing to be argued. "I love you all, my children of Origin, and I would gladly give my life for any one of yours, but there are some among you who are not my children, but took their shapes, and it is time I take out this rot." Eos gestured and brought out the Primordial of Sceaming Void, Noctis. He was frozen in place with a sneer on his face. He held up the Primordial by the nape of his neck as if he were holding up a little cat. "What many of you do not know is that the attacks we are suffering these past few million years are not just coming from the Ancient Primordials, but from another secretive organization that has been targeting this realm, and their goal is for me to serve their purpose. A lot of what happened in Limbo was orchestrated by this group, and their arrogance knows no bounds." Telmus growled, "That bastard is not the only one?" "No, he is not," Eos replied, "And his organization has been dropping its armies on our heads all these years as a direct challenge to my reign. I have been silent for so long because they believed they held an important weakness of mine... all of you." Then he asked a question, "What makes a Primordial everlasting? Is it your control over Origin, or something else?" The gathering fell into silence, and before any of them could respond, Eos made an Arcane gesture and revealed the depths of his Origin Lands, "Let me show you what makes you truly everlasting... me." In the depths of his Origin Lands were sixty-five massive pillars, rooted in a sea of essence and power so dense and ridiculously powerful that only viewing it through this vision stole the breath away from the Primordials. "If you die... when you die... Your Origins are rooted inside my own, and I will be able to resurrect you all as long as I have the energy for it, but I cannot do this forever. My energy stores are limitless, but bringing back any dead Primordial takes something precious from me that I cannot regain... it takes a part of my soul." A visible gasp of surprise passed through the ranks of the Primordials; none of them knew that one of the benefits of becoming Primordials in the Origin Realms meant resurrection from death, because they knew how stupidly expensive such a process would be. With their sights as Primordials, they had wondered if they should root their Origins inside Limbo, because for all its corruption, it had infinite energy, but they only had to dig a bot deeper into the core of Limbo, and they saw that beneath its surface of an ocean of madness and evil that were so profound that if any of them lost their lives, their Origin would be shattered and assimilated by this evil. "I was never going to tell any of you of this cost to me; it would only make you fight more carefully and weaken your resolve, because to the enemy, killing any of you is not just to gain a foothold over the Origin Realms; they also understand that each of you are my true foundation and also my weakness," Eos paused, "I was never going to speak of it, but I finally realized that I was underestimating the depths of your heart, and hiding this truths from you all was an insult to your capabilities. You will fight, and you will die, but if death comes for you, knowing the price I will pay, you will make sure that the enemy pays a price a thousand times greater for your death... You shall all swear that to me!"
