Chapter 1861: Eat The Hunger (1) A teasing tone entered the boy’s voice, "Why is it so hard for you to imagine? When you summoned the power of End for the first time, you were lucky that you used the fundamental rule to power it, but apart from that, you stipulated nothing, and the power of End was free to collect everything it wanted from you without holding back." The boy stroked his non-existent chin, "Sometimes I wonder if that was an act of genius or just plain stupidity. Oh well, history is written by the winners. If by the slim chance you come on top of this conflict, then your act will be seen by all in history as a genius; if not, then you will be mocked for all eternity." Rowan remained silent, keeping his thoughts inside his heart. At his present level, even if the truth of what occurred were to be disseminated outward to the masses, which was highly unlikely, then it was highly probable that they might not be able to understand what they were being told, and the truth would be bastardized into different tiny truths and false stories. He had never much cared about the opinion of the masses, and he would face all of his challenges alone. His triumphs and defeats were his to bear. He had lived a long, long time and received love that most would never comprehend; he was satisfied with his story being told and interpreted however it was told. "Ah, I see that this does not move your heart," the boy muttered, coughing. "Obviously, I knew that, but I just had to be sure. It’s always hard to interpret your intentions, Rowan." "Does my main body know everything that is transpiring here?" Rowan asked the burning question in his heart. After all this time, he finally felt comfortable enough to reveal one of his concerns to the boy. "No, but he is experiencing changes across all Reality. Do you want to see what is happening in the present?" Rowan nodded in affirmation, and the boy snapped his fingers. ® Eos felt the last moments of his Incarnation. He had died many times, and he knew all flavors of death in a manner that few would ever understand. His ability to create Incarnations that could perfectly merge with his consciousness meant that he could feel every little detail that occurred when any of his Incarnations perished. He had created ninety-four million Incarnations over the years. Some of them were never seen; they resided inside weapons or techniques or in the minds and hearts of his children or his enemies. Only a few of them walked through Reality, and he saw life through their eyes, but he had experienced most of them passing away, and he had learned intimately what death felt like. What was happening with the Incarnation struck by the power of his Final Form was different. At first, there was pain, not from the technique, but from being eaten by the Primordials. Eos felt that there should not have been any pain when the Primordials ate, but there was something wrong with them on a level that could not be easily described. It was almost as if every one of their actions must cause a form of pain or distress, or it would not be completed. Was this the true core of a Primordial? Rowan felt it wasn’t, but they had been corrupted in the past, and it may have happened so slowly that, by the time they fully transformed, he was sure none of them would be able to pinpoint the exact instant when everything changed. The pain did not matter to Eos; it was just another source of information, but then the massive teeth of the technique he had created slammed down over his Incarnation, and everything went dark. Eos felt a moment of disorientation, which was a strange sensation for a being like him. It was hard to shake his consciousness, but he felt as if there were several gaps in his memories that he could not understand. The first thing his consciousness reached for was his Incarnation, and he discovered that he was dead... well, that was to be expected, he thought, but then, Eos felt something was wrong... to his Perception, his Incarnation was dead, but he was also not dead, and no matter how much he searched, his Incarnation was gone. Eos was a being of duality, a creator and a destructor, so he could easily wrap his head around the idea that his Incarnation might be in a strange state, but it was extremely curious. However, he had no time to fully comprehend the changes that might have happened when he saw the transformation before him. The seven Primordials, beings of vast might and power, carrying infinite hunger and pain... well, those beings were gone, they did not disappear like his Incarnation, instead something much worse had happened... their madness and the endless slumber that kept them bound had vanished, and before Eos were seven fully awakened Primordials. They stood at the core of the origin of Souls, all in humanoid form, and, oddly enough, the seven Primordials had wings behind them, like Angels, but in different colors. Their eyes were closed and Eos could feel a subtle energy gathering around them, like the faint calm that was felt before a storm, or the silence before the first heartbeat of a foetus in the womb... For a moment, time seemed to become nonexistent as Eos realized that he had forgotten an important detail the moment he commanded his Final form to eat the Primordials, and he wondered how he could have ever missed this glaring flaw in front of him. What did he know about Primorsials after meeting them for the first time? He knew that they were beings of endless hunger who could not stop eating even if they wanted to, and they had accumulated so much power, but they never had the chance to digest them... that power had grown to the extent that anyone or anything ele would have perished, but the Primordials in their perfection suffered a fate that was much worse than death... they could not die, no matter how much they consumed, even though it was no longer giving them any sustenance. Still, how could he have missed the glaring problem he was about to create when he commanded his Final Form to eat the Primordials? Whatever that power had done, it had consumed the Primordials, but it had also freed them! The Primordials were all carrying the burdens of too much Origin Force trapped in their bodies, and when the Final Form ate them, he stripped them of a great amount of their power, but he also took off their greatest burden. Perhaps, if three of the Primordials were not awake before he gave that order, things might have gone differently, or if he was more powerful and was able to fully control the powers of his final Form, he might have been able to target the Primordials in a manner that would have been different, but now... he had just freed monsters from their cages. As if listening to his thoughts, the seven Primordials opened their eyes, and the only female among them, smiled and stepped forward, "Ah, so it worked, we are free."
