Chapter 2072: Playing With Destiny A Primordial Candidate goes through two major Tribulations before they are worthy to become Primordials, and the first was internal, where they validated their understanding of the Origin. Usually, the Tribulation took the form of Judges, sentient constructs of the Origin, and they would test the candidate on their understanding of the Origin they wanted to embody, and if the candidates were astute enough to pass this test, the next test would come from Existence itself, where it would send down cleansing lightning to eradicate the candidate. This lightning was the final test of the candidate’s compatibility with the Concept, and if they would not properly wield the power to defend themselves, they would be eradicated, and the Concept would return to Existence. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺 If this were the process for reaching Primordial, then how could the Ancient Primordials and the Temple of End create many abnormal creatures with the strength of Primordials? Well, for one, they did not care about the casualties in this process, and because the Primordials they were creating were mass-produced using a small number of concepts, they understood nearly all the mysteries about this concept. It was also worthy to note that with the proliferation of the power of End inside Existence, it had been able to dull the power of the lightning Tribulation that was sent down by Existence. If the Primordials being created by the Ancient Primordials were to face the full force of the lightning tribulation, only a tiny fraction of them would survive, and End did not desire something like this, because the cleansed power of the dead Primordials would feed the foundations of Existence. They were exchanging quantity for quality, and in any other instance, this would be a bad bet, but the Ancient Primordials had access to so much power that they could transform quantity into quality. A thousand weak Primordials were a joke, a million weak Primordials were a cause for concern, a billion weak Primordials were a disaster that could destroy the Origin Realms a thousand times over. Of course, no one expects a billion Primordials from the enemy, but that was the problem; no one knew what to truly expect. All these old monsters had depths that could not be seen, even if all eternity was given to discover them, and there could always be hidden details that could be missed. This was the greatest disadvantage of fighting with these Ancient monsters because their means always seem to be infinite. However, in the Origin Realms, the trial to reach Primordial was slightly different. The first obvious difference was that every Primordial born inside the Origin Realms was unique, at least at the beginning. Eos expected that in the future, a Primordial on the fourth layer of his concept could teach his followers under him, the core secrets of his concept, so they could also be Primordials of the same concept, except they would have to endure never being able to touch the deeper layers of this concept. Still, becoming a Primordial was the dream of all life in Existence, and the majority would never reach this level, given a million lifetimes to try. Having unique concepts that were not tied to Existence meant that every Primordial would have to face a unique Tribulation that could not be known in advance, and Eos speculated that these Tribulations were tied to the personal experience of each Primordial Candidate, meaning it was impossible for him to help them if he wanted. If a Primordial Candidate failed the Internal Tribulation, there was a slight chance of survival, but the majority would perish at this stage. For those that survive, there was a chance they could try again to push for the Primordial level, but this chance was slim. The second test was the Lightning Tribulation that was sent by Existence, but in the case of the New Primordials, they had no relationship with Existence; their foundation was rooted inside Eos’s Origin Land, and it meant it was up to Eos to give them their Tribulation. However, Eos did not view Tribulations as a chance to strike down the unworthy and collect their powers so it could be added to his Origin Land. This was a lesser path, and he would only take it if he was in some way inferior to the Primordials he was helping to create. Instead, Eos saw the Lightning Tribulation as a chance to temper the newly birthed Primordial. He would give the Primordials as many lightning strikes as they could handle, and he would do it in such a measured way that as the Primordial was adapting to the Lightning strikes, he would increase the intensity until they could fully master their powers, and then he would stop.’ Using this process, some talented Primordials had been able to conquer multiple layers of their Origin in a single sitting. This was where the Field of Elysium came into the picture. Before Eos, most Primordials could only begin exploring the deeper layers of their Origin when they became Primordials, but Eos had begun to explore these layers even before he became a Primordial. Obviously, he had several advantages that an average Primordial Candidate would not have, and this was what Serathis sought to duplicate with the Field of Elysium. A Primordial Candidate who finds the place that resonates with their Origin would sit, meditate, and learn from this spot. Without the distraction of other dimensions, they would be focused only on their concept, and many had been able to see deeper layers of their concepts using this method. Most of the time, these discoveries and understanding of the deeper layers of their concepts could not be fully understood because the candidates were still Old Ones, but it greatly helped them during their Internal Tribulation, providing invaluable insights that could not be found unless the candidate had spent a ridiculous amount of years on their concept, and the Lightning Tribulation would temper and solidify their understanding of their Origin. The Field of Elysium was a success, multiplying the rate by which new Primordials could be born, but for Serathis, it was not enough. Even with all the advantages that the Field of Elysium gave to the Primordial candidates, there were some that still fell short during the Internal Tribulation, and they perished. In the last hundred million years, five Primordial Candidates perished, and because they were dealing with Origin, Eos could not resurrect them. Only if they could pass the first Internal Tribulation could they root themselves in his Origin Land, and the lightning Tribulation began the moment they started rooting their Origin Force inside his realm. Every fallen Primordial was a blow to Eos, and it was the ultimate risk to determine who would be able to become the most powerful being in Existence, and he had always seen this as a fair price... however, Serathis disagreed. Everything could be changed to favor the good of a person, and Fate and Destiny were not fixed. She was born to change luck and destinies, and the way she saw life was always different. She knew that if she wanted to interfere with Origin, she had to go beyond the limit of what Destiny, a ninth-dimensional concept, would allow, and the creation of Destiny’s Anchor Formation was a result of this belief. If a candidate were to fail their Tribulation, this Formation would deceive their Origin, making them believe that the Candidate had perished. In this manner, they could go back and try again and again. She was playing with Destiny, and these candidates were her pawns.
