Chapter 1608: The Garden Of Primordial Dawn Rowan barely glanced through the spatial tear before looking away. He sent mental fluctuations to his serpents to keep the Eye of Time alive. Rowan was not ready to fight against Primordial Time because he lacked the necessary tools for that battle, and this was not the right moment. His fight was with Light. This day had begun as any other, but already, the Thrones of Chaos and Memory had fallen, and if Rowan would not fail, then Light was next. However, unlike his previous battle with Primordial Memory, where he had been filled with endless fervor for battle, Rowan was only filled with sadness when it came to the next confrontation. His intent was read by his serpent and Bahamut, the second awakened Origin Ouroboros swallowed the Eye of Time, and holding his broken blade Rowan began to head towards heaven. He could feel the silent wave of anger and desperation from his serpents, and Rowan shook his head in warning, "You cannot follow me into this place. Not yet." He did not look back as he stepped into the spatial tear; he only heard the sound of space zipping shut, and the waves of power emerging from his serpents that had been supporting him were cut off. "Welcome to the Garden of Primordial Dawn." The familiar voice of Eva rippled in his consciousness, and because her words were conveyed by higher-dimensional language, it carried a ton of information about the Garden of Primordial Dawn, and all of these rushed into Rowan’s consciousness, and it was almost as if he had lived here for countless Eras. If he had imagined what the center of heaven would look like, a part of his imagination would have been correct, but as always, there was something more to discover. This place at the depths of heaven was massive, except for several special Celestial Creators and the Thrones of other Primes in close alliance with Light, none had stepped foot in this garden. And what a garden it was. It was as if Rowan had been transported into a field of flowers that bloomed with miniature stars and trees that bore fruits, which granted visions of creation. Anywhere that the light touches in Reality and beyond would be shown in these fruits. This place was a paradise of eternal twilight, where the first sunrise had never faded. Surrounding the garden was a crystal lake that reflected not water, but the countless souls who had ever lived under the dominion of Light. The shift from the space of Bahamut to the Heart of Heaven was drastic, and Rowan, who was at the end of his rope, could hardly withstand the strain. If it were not for the voice of Eve, focusing his senses, he might have taken a while to reassemble his consciousness. Pain lanced through Rowan’s heart, and he gritted his teeth in anger. He could feel blood pouring from his gums with the force he was using to suppress his emotions. Rowan looked in the distance to Eva sitting on a throne of light, her beautiful face a picture of cold perfection, but in Rowan’s delirious state, it was almost as if he could see an illusion of his partner, for so long smiling down at him. "You did not need to hurt yourself for me. You know this would always be coming. I am sorry, Rowan. If I could, I would carry this burden, but you are the only one who can do this. One day, we shall meet again in the sun, and I will dance with you." Rowan shook his head, pushing the memories of the past aside. He was surprised that, with all he had lost to the ravages of the Gilded Maw, he could still keep this particular memory. "So, Memory had fallen. Pathetic, for all his ambitions, his resolve has always been his greatest shortcomings." Rowan slowly raised his blade towards Primordial Light, and she chuckled, "Surely you don’t think you can fight me like that?" "Tell that to Primordial Memory," Rowan replied, "Ah, you can’t." "Actually, I can." Primordial Light smirked before calling out, "Adjudicator, your favourite experiment is here, will you not welcome him?" From behind the throne of Primordial Light, a dozen men walked out, all having the same features as the Adjudicator and all frowning at Rowan. The hate in their eyes was palpable. "What?!" Primordial Memory spoke from a dozen mouths at the same time, "Do you think you could kill me that easily?" Rowan shook his head, "No, I was just worried that there would not be enough of you to kill." Speaking these words, Rowan swung his broken blade in a vertical sweep, and although no blade light erupted from the weapon, all the dozen bodies of Primordial Memory vanished like bubbles that were popped. All these bodies were at the eighth-dimensional level, although Rowan was still weak; they were nothing before him. He might not have all his powers and was merely a shell of who he was, but the powers of Fate Origin he had grasped meant his will had become tempered with forces that exceeded all creation. Hence, his will was not something any eighth-dimensional immortal could grasp. "Enough with the distractions. You know why I am here." Rowan brandished his blade at Primordial Light, "Step down and fight, or I will drag you from your throne." Light blazed in the eyes of Primordial Light, and she gave a dark chuckle, "I brought you into my home with full honor and respect, and this is how you chose to respond to my grace." Rowan spat to the side, smiling as his red blood defaced the beautiful flowers that surrounded him, "Forgive me when I spit on your grace. From the beginning of existence, the game had been rigged against all creation. You and your kind are thieves and destroyers wearing the guise of saviours and creators. You do not deserve my benevolence or my respect. The price I have paid to get to this point is greater than you can ever imagine." "But I can imagine it, Rowan." Primordial Light responded softly, "The mechanism of my creation, the light in the heart of my Throne. It is not something that can be covered by the ravages of the Abyss or the treasures of Memory. I may not know what Eve may have experienced with you...." Touching her heart, Primordial Light seemed lost in a daze, "...but I know for a long time that this heart beat for you. And for that, would you not listen to me for a while before we draw blades against each other?" Rowan gritted his teeth in pain, "You lie, there is nothing left inside her that you can take. My Lady of Shadows would never give you anything." "She did not, but even someone as wise as her did not understand her heart. My Throne was perfect, and yet it was not enough. Your presence eroded that perfection and imprinted itself in her heart." Rowan shook, and for the first time, he took a step backwards, trying to suppress the flood of memories that were breaking the barriers of unraveling unleashed by Primordial Memory, and the voice of Primordial Light chased him. "Why did you think she did all of this? Because of your plan? No, it was because she loved you."
