Chapter 1619: Muddy The Waters In the battle inside the space created by Bahamut, Rowan had been able to capture the Throne of Primordial Chaos with the aid of Primordial Soul. This could be a valuable tool in the future, as in many ways, the Throne of Primordial Chaos was stronger than Rowan and could reach places he could not yet touch. With this Throne, Rowan could rapidly grow his understanding of the power of Primordial Chaos, deepening his insight into the realm of Primordials and boosting his attainment into the realm of Destiny. There was also the fact that this Throne was very valuable to Primordial Soul, allowing her to make extensive changes in Reality that the sliver of consciousness that she controlled was not able to. From the point of view of Primordial Soul, using this Throne at this point was wasting something so valuable it could not be easily replaced, but Rowan had his reasons why he was willing to give up this advantage. The first and most apparent reason was Primordial Chaos himself. Unlike other Primordials whose form were deep in slumber, Chaos had been able to maintain a degree of alertness that no other Primordial could match, and although he was stuck in the lower realms with a field of Oblivion covering his Aura, the loss of a Throne might be enough push for Chaos to go wild and unleash his power into the higher realms. Rowan was aware that Primordial Chaos had covered the entire lower realms with the Aura of Oblivion, and this blocked the perception of other Primordials from touching him or discovering his hidden activities. He had no Primordial Domain in the higher dimensions, and so he needed a way to protect his secrets, but this Aura was a double-edged blade, and it also blocked his perception from fully touching the higher realms. Without his Throne, except looking through the eyes of minor Chaos Bloods, his perception had been cut off. Rowan had experienced looking through the eyes of lesser immortals, and he knew that for a Primordial whose perception may be equal to his own, this was no difference to being blind. In normal times, Primordial Chaos might have been a bit laid back and gathered more information, but not when all of Reality was under such massive upheaval. Primordial Chaos was not going to stand back, and he was a mad creature; his responses would be exaggerated and unexpected. To gain as much benefit from this Throne, Rowan would have to use it immediately. Also this Throne gave Primordial Soul too much advantages, and Rowan wanted to cripple her influence. She might be his ally, but Rowan did not think for a moment that she was not an enemy. Besides, the purpose of obtaining this Throne was to use it at the right moment. That moment has arrived." Primordial Soul frowned and closed her eyes, and Rowan felt an unknown awareness exit his soul shard. He had not been able to detect the movements of her perception, and it was not until she exited his soul that he felt anything. In an instant, her perception returned, and the gaze she used to observe Rowan changed. "The agreement I made with you was to fulfil your potential, granting you the power to free me from Oblivion. However, no matter how much you invest in this new Light, it would not have the foundations to stand against Old Light. Have you thought this through? This step you are taking would no longer make you an amusing distraction but a real threat. You are not yet an Old One. Is it worth it?" All of these rapid-fire questions made Rowan pause. His mind was already made up, but it did not hurt to consider the words of Primordial Soul for a moment. Inside his soul shard, time was almost still, and he could think about his decisions for a while. Before clashing with the Primordials, Rowan was unaware of the trap they had set in his body and soul. All he knew was that it was there and was most likely powerful enough to kill him if he was not careful. He could have been careful and slowly discovered the corrupted potion of his power, but Rowan knew there was an opportunity here that, if properly grasped, could lead to an outcome that none of his enemies could expect. Primordial Soul had spoken to him of his past and the efforts she had taken to shatter his soul origin so he could be merged into Reality. Rowan did not know if he genuinely believed her tale. He could not imagine that his present soul power, which was already so amazing, was just a fraction of his overall capabilities. Nevertheless, if it turned out to be true, it would be a boon to him, but his focus was never on these unknown pieces of his soul that had been shattered in the past. There were too many suspicious things about this story from Primordial Soul, and the proper focus of his campaign was to steal the Authority that Light had over Reality. Even Primordial Soul was not aware that Rowan’s focus was on this project. She had believed that Eva was going to cause a slight disruption in heaven and not shake it to the core. Rowan had been able to deceive her because he did not have any memory of this plan; everything had been stored inside Circe. Primordial Soul tried to argue out of this plan for the last time, saying, "If I use this Throne, then the possibility of them realizing that I have an influence in Reality would be high, and this would ruin one of the greatest trump cards you have in this battle." Rowan shrugged, "I have ways around that, and this is the one I think would work best." Flipping his hand, the sealed form of the Eye of Time appeared above his palm, "Merge this with the core of the Primordial’s Throne, and it would not matter if they believe that this eye had the power to control Chaos or this was a smokescreen on his part to avoid the consequences of supporting me." "You are using the eye of my brother to muddle the pool?" "Precisely," Rowan nodded, "As you have shown me, the Primordials do not trust each other, and I do not need to create elaborate schemes to deceive them. The best weapon I have against them is their convoluted relationships." The eyes of Primordial Soul glinted. "Time would be a great ally to you. Are you sure you want to do this?" "I am sure he would understand," Rowan said with a smile that did not reach his eyes.
