Chapter 1633: I Can Give You An End The stag smiled. It was strange to see a smile on the face of a beast, but the smile turned out to be almost beautiful. It enchanted Rowan’s senses, and if not for his profound resilience, he would bow before this being and worship it. Death did not need a garland or adoration. This was a powerful being equal to or perhaps even exceeding the Primordials, and Rowan was seeing its true form. It was cohesive and beautiful in a manner that was almost impossible to describe. Rowan suspected that the Primordials were not like this, because Death seemed complete, a being that had found its purpose, but the Primordials still ravaged Realities, endlessly searching and plundering. " Eulxhu Thyak, why do you resist me? You shall find rest and a purpose in my bosom beyond your endless pursuit. It is okay to give up, it is okay to rest, because in the end, everything will come to this place. What is the use of struggling in the past, the present, or the future, when kings and beggars, gods and even they, the Primes, will come to me one day?" Hearing these words, Rowan smiled back at Death, the Beast of Final Rest, "I have unspun the threads of fate, broken the spine of time, and encroached my name upon eternity. What meaning does your end hold for me? As I can see you, so too do you see me, Death, so tell me, do you see any weakness?" Death shrugged and looked into the distance, and Rowan suspected it was looking into a dimension much farther than his senses could reach. "Fate, Time, Destiny? They all mean nothing. It is a story that mortals and immortals make to soften the edge of my approach. You have dealt in endings, I know as much, for someone as young as you, the number of souls that have entered my realm by your hands is commendable, even my realm welcomes you, a fellow dealer of death. Know that your purpose does not end if you let go of life; a new world of death awaits you." The rapid switch-up from Death made Rowan blink. At first, Death had enjoined him to give up his existence and rest, telling him that in the end, all his efforts were futile, but Rowan showed Death his heart, and it was one that could not be broken. Rowan had expected Death to continue down in its previous arguments, yet this being must have understood that Rowan could not bend when he had made a decision; he could only be broken. Now, Death was offering him a position in his realm, which was an interesting concept. Rowan wanted to explore this further because it was tied to the reason he allowed himself to be broken by the Primordials. Opening his palm, Rowan manifested one of the Angels of Char that had distinct demonic traces. His dimensional flesh and soul may have been devastated by the Gilded Maw, but before Primordial Memory activated this trap, Rowan had already separated a special variant of these Angels and placed them deep inside his Origin Land. As he suspected, when Gilded Maw was activated, these Angels that he had set aside were not affected by the spell, and Rowan was able to keep some of the foundation of his Celestial Creation. "If you want a man like me to give up my dreams, then you have to answer my question. This spell, how was your power tied into it?" Death looked at the Angel of Char before the beast snorted, "If you know about the Primes, then the answer to your question is apparent. They are the greatest contributor to my domain. You may be a great dealer of death, but it is nothing compared to what the Primes have given me over the eras. Naturally, I give them gifts, the space to work without fearing my touch. In the end, everything ends, even the Primes would fall, but for now, they are my favorites." Rowan shook his head in amazement, "You don’t see the trap here, do you? Even as a child, I know the Primordials cannot be trusted. Do you think they would gladly expand your kingdom, only for them to fall by your hand in the end?" The eyes of Death blazed, "What they want does not matter. You mistake the actor for the stage. They slaughter, I observe. They rage, I wait. Even Primordials tire, even the greatest dealers of destruction falter. When their fire gutters out, I will be the silence that follows. This is inevitable." Rowan nodded his head in acknowledgment, "Perhaps it is, but you should know that would not stop them from fighting back when the time is right. You have gained great benefits for making the Primordials your ally, but have you ever questioned what they stand to gain by helping you?" The shadowy stag focused its burning gaze on Rowan, "Your words are dangerous and serve no purpose. Even if the Primordials have their designs, you have no way of affecting any of the outcomes. Stamping a hoof on the ground, Death growled, "You believe you have something that I need. Spit it out. I am only here because you are an aberration, but do not think you are the first of such people to have come before my gaze. The infinity that you know is mere moments for me." Rowan closed his palm, banishing the Angel of Char, "I will be direct with you, Death. The Primordials, with your power, have been able to cause a profound level of destruction across multiple realities. I am here for you to consider withdrawing your power from them." The voice of the stag went low, almost like a dying whisper, "And why would I choose to do that?" "I have been standing here for sixty million years, and I have watched your realm as it accepted the souls of the dead, placing them in a state of endless slumber. I have heard you speak about the inevitability of the end, and how all things come to rest here at the end of all things, and so I asked myself, what is it that you want?" Death laughed, "You assume to know what I want, after spending moments in my realm?" "I do," Rowan replied, "I may not know much about the workings of all things, but what I understand, what I recognize is desire. You believe you have seen others like me, but you have not." This time, when Death burst into laughter, the innumerable crows that perched on its antlers laughed alongside it, and the sound was so horrifying that it would have ended all life inside a Reality. As suddenly as the laughter began, it ended, and the face of the stag came close to Rowan, its burning eyes becoming so massive that even Rowan, with the size of his dimensional flesh, became as small as dust before it, "Why should I believe your empty words?" "Because I can give you something that they cannot," Rowan said, and he opened his palm. For a brief moment, a line appeared on his palm before it vanished. It was his first dimensional state, "I can give a dimension that is uncorrupted. I can give you silence unending. Death, I can give you an end." For a long time, Death was silent. Rowan waited.
